A reactionary is someone who believes in reactionism. Since the beginning of the Cold War, the term has become near synonymous with anti-socialist. Prior to the Cold War, the term was used to describe variously right-wing ideas such as conservatism and advocation for a return to some kind of previous society detatched from progressive ideals.
Reactionary Bloc[edit | edit source]
The reactionary bloc, or reactionary world, is used to describe a group of countries in the ongoing Cold War that oppose both the Soviet Union and China as well as socialism as a whole. Brazil, Spain and South Africa are considered the leaders of the bloc but there is a lack of any formal organisation that coordinates efforts between the reactionary states.
