The Havering People's Revolutionary Party (HPRP), formerly the Havering Revolutionary-Socialist Party and also known as the Havering Independence Party, is an unregistered left-wing Havering nationalist and socialist political party and that seeks to form an "Independent Republic of Havering". The party has not had any elected representatives since its founding in 2022 and its founder, Thomas Bricks, leads the party as Chairperson of the Central Committee.

History

The Havering Revolutionary-Socialist Party was founded by Thomas Bricks in August 2022 and renamed the Havering People's Revolutionary Party in December. The party constitution was published in June 2023 with the Foundation Congress planned to be held soon.

Organisation

The party constitution defines the structure and rules of the Party. The main party body is the Central Committee, the Chairperson of which serves as party leader, which is the highest authority between Party Congresses. The party follows the principle of democratic centralism meaning decisions made by the Central Committee must be obeyed by the membership.

Policies

The Party supports the notion that Havering is a nation and should have sovereignty. The long-term goal of the Party is the establishment of a sovereign "Independent Republic of Havering" as part of a confederation with other independent republics in the Greater London region or across Great Britain. Shorter-term goals include the realisation of the Havering national identity and greater autonomy for Greater London. The Party considers modern Havering inseparable from Greater London.

The Party follows an ideology of "revolutionary socialism". According to Thomas Bricks, "revolutionary doesn't necessiate a violent revolution. We support a radical change of social, political and economic structure". The Party ideology is inspired by Marxist theory, the Leninist organisational principle of democratic centralism and aspects of the North Korean ideology of Juche.

With regards to foreign relations, the Party generally supports secessionist movements. It claims to be anti-imperialist and is opposed to the existence of the United States and United Kingdom.

National Revolutionary Front

The National Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of Havering is a popular front led by the Havering People's Revolutionary Party. It consists of the following organisations:

  • National Revolutionary Youth League of Havering - Youth wing
  • General Association of Havering Labour - Trade union
  • Havering Religious Union - Joint religious body
  • Havering Friendship Association - International pro-HPRP association
