The Political Compass

Anti-centrism is a political outlook that opposes status quo, centrist and moderate political views, such as neoliberalism, and advocates for unity among radicals in combatting those views. Originating with Canadian content creator Greg "Jreg" Guevera, he represented anti-centrism as unity between four political extremes based on the Political Compass:

  • Communism (representing the Authoritarian Left quadrant),
  • Nazism (representing the Authoritarian Right quadrant),
  • Anarcho-Communism (representing the Libertarian Left quadrant), and
  • Anarcho-Capitalism (representing the Libertarian Right quadrant).

Although plain opposition to centrist politics is common on both the left and right of the political spectrum, anti-centrism, as advocating for unity among extremists, is largely fictional though not unheard of. Syncretic politics can be seen as a form of anti-centrist politics, advocating for a combination of left-wing and right-wing policies. An example is the National Bolshevik movement which combines left-wing economic views with right-wing cultural views. Indeed, National Bolshevism is represented in Jreg's internet show "Centricide" as the anti-centrist merger of Communism and Nazism.
