The International Communist League (ICL) is an international organisation of pro-Soviet political parties and organisations. It consists of mostly communist and socialist parties.
Founded in 1969 as a successor to the Third Communist International (1919–43), the League was created to be the vanguard of the international communist movement and as a consolidation of pro-Soviet parties across the globe into one organisation. The League, dominated by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, did not include many pro-China and anti-revisionist communist parties most of which joined the Revolutionary Communist International upon its founding in 1972 as a rival to the ICL.
The current chairman is TBA while the leading vanguard party within the organisation is the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
